The Asian Football Confederation on Thusday said North Korea must cooperate if it wants to play in regional competitions.

AFC President Mohamed bin Hammam told Reuters Thursday that excluding North Korea from the 2007 Asian Cup was a difficult decision but said Asian nations must give due priority to major tournaments.

The North earlier this year was ruled ineligible for the tournament qualifiers because it failed to submit its application on time.
