Defending champion Brazil on Monday ended North Korea's run in the FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru.
In a 3-1 overtime win, Brazil scored two goals in the extra session after the North had tied the game late in the second half.
With the North's players tired in overtime and playing suspect defense, Celso's goal gave Brazil the lead in the 97th minute. Igor's score in the 120th minute assured a semifinal showdown Thursday with Turkey.
The North in the 82nd minute had been thinking another upset after Kim Kyong-il's goal tied the score and eventually forced overtime.
Led by striker Choe Myong-ho, the North again aggressively attacked throughout the game but suffered from defensive lapses and was outdone by the more experienced Brazil.
Ramon scored the opening goal for Brazil in the 48th minute.
