Lee SY Hits 30th Homer in Japan

Slugger Lee Seung-yeop has hit his 30th home run of the season in Japan.

Lee on Friday hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning against Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in his Chiba Lotte Marines' 12-3 win. He ranks as one of the top five home run hitters in the Pacific League.

The player had a disappointing 14 home runs last year after joining the Marines in December 2003 on a two-year deal worth 4.7 million dollars.

The 29-year-old Lee holds the Asian single-season homer record of 56.
