NK Needs Win in U-17 Soccer Tourney

North Korea's soccer team must beat Cote d'Ivoire Tuesday to stay alive in the FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru.

The North on Saturday fell to the United States, 3-2, in their first Group C game.

The match was also the first between the two nations in an event sanctioned by FIFA, soccer's world governing body.

The North is making its first appearance in the tournament.

North Korean striker Choe Myong-ho scored in the loss, adding support for his nickname, "Korean Ronaldo."
