The national baseball team was finally stopped at second place at the 36th Baseball World Cup in the Netherlands.

Due to silent batting, the team lost 3-0 to Cuba, which has now won nine straight victories in the Baseball World Cup.

Although the team failed to regain the championship in 23 years, it reached second place for the first time since the 1998 Italy Baseball World Cup.
