The BBC and ESPN Soccernet have named left wingback Lee Young-pyo to their weekly all-star soccer teams.

The British broadcaster on Monday named the Tottenham Hotspur defender to its "Team of the Week" for his outstanding debut against Liverpool.

The ESPN list named Lee as one of its top three defenders, saying he showed impressive early form for Tottenham and was excellent in the draw with Liverpool.

Sky Sports also gave Lee a top rating of eight.

Tottenham Coach Martin Jol praised Lee for his play, saying the defender was exactly what he wanted: someone who can advance on the sides.

Jol added Tottenham fans have to be pleased with the player's performance Saturday.
