Autistic Swimmer Wins Gold in Int'l Meet

An autistic swimmer on Friday won a gold medal in the fourth INAS-FID Swimming World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Kim Jin-ho won the 200-meter backstroke in the competition for disabled athletes with a time of two minutes and 24.49 seconds.

He broke the world disabled record by more than three seconds in his first international race, and won the silver in the 100-meter backstroke.

Selected to the national disabled team in 2002, he won two gold medals in the Asia-Pacific Swimming Championships.
