S. Korea Seeks Stronger IT Ties with EU

Information and Communication Minister Chin Dae-je has proposed boosting bilateral cooperation with the European Union in the field of information and telecommunication.

At a conference on IT cooperation in London Tuesday, Chin introduced South Korea's IT industry and policies and proposed combining the E.U.’s advanced technology and software with his country's IT infrastructure.

In particular, Chin explained Seoul’s ambitious plan to make South Korea an international IT hub and called for active investment by European nations in building research and development centers.

IT ministers from 20 E.U. countries as well as leading business figures were on hand at the IT forum.
