Park Yong-sung Re-elected to IJF President

Doosan Group Chairman Park Yong-sung has been re-elected to head the International Judo Federation for the third time.

In the federation’s general assembly held in Cairo, Egypt Monday, Park won one-hundred votes out of a total of 185 ballots cast while his contender, Marius Vizer from Romania, acquired 85 votes.

By winning his four-year presidency in the international body for the third straight time, Park also gets to maintain his membership in the International Olympic Committee. Other than for Park, Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee also represents South Korea in the IOC.

Currently, Park also serves as the chairman of International Chamber of Commerce and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
