S. Korea Wins 1st Medals in Incheon

South Korean Kim Hyun-sub won the silver medal in the men's 20 km walk at the Asian Athletics Championship on Friday, marking the first medal for his country in the four-day competition.
Kim finished the course in one hour, 25 minutes and 41 seconds, 11 seconds behind Chinese winner Lu Ronghua. It was the first time that South Korea has won a silver medal at the event in the Asian Championship.
Kim also finished second in the same event at the Izmir Universiad 2005, held earlier last month.
At the Asian championships underway in Incheon, Kim competed for the lead with China's Lu from the start but failed to keep pace at the finish. The bronze medal went to Chinese Zhang Hong, who came in one minute and 33 seconds behind Kim.
Lee Yeon-kyung gave South Korea another silver medal in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.38 seconds, 0.08 second behind the winner, Su Yiping of China.
North Korean female marathoner Ham Pong-sil won the bronze medal in the women's 10,000-meter race on Thursday, giving her country its first medal.
