Lee Could Overtake Park JS in England

Lee Young-pyo could overtake Park Ji-sung as the better of the two Korean players in the English Premier League.

With Tottenham Hotspur signing the coveted defender to a four-year deal Tuesday, Lee is expected to immediately boost the team's defense.

Tottenham Coach Martin Jol has called Lee the best left wingback in Europe.

PSV Eindhoven showed just how badly it wanted to keep Lee during its protracted effort to keep him. In contrast, the Dutch champion had no problem letting Park go to Manchester United.

Lee's professionalism, stamina and consistency endeared him to former South Korea and incumbent PSV Coach Guus Hiddink, who urged Lee to stay in the Netherlands.

Hiddink in July said Lee never has a bad game and is usually above average and sometimes great, things that the coach never said about Park.

Lee will make his Tottenham debut on September 10th in a home game against Liverpool.
