1-2 Typhoons to Hit Korea This Fall

One or two typhoons are forecast to hit the Korean Peninsula this fall.

The Korea Meteorological Administration on Thursday said this fall will see a below-average number of typhoons of nine to eleven, with one or two to affect the peninsula.

A high pressure front from the northern Pacific Ocean will cause heavy rain in several areas early next month. A migratory anti-cyclone will bring sunny weather and temporary high temperatures in late September.

The migratory high pressure zone in October will produce mostly clear days with big gaps in morning and evening temperatures along with one or two bouts of heavy rain.

Parts of the inland and mountainous areas may see frost and ice by October.
