NK Women Footballers Beat S. Korea 2-0

North Korea’s women footballers beat their South Korean counterparts 2-0 in a friendly match held in Goyang city, Gyeonggi Province Tuesday.

North Korea’s first goal came in the seventh minute from Jo Yun-mi who scored with a sharp left-footer.

Then in the 64th minute, Ri Un-suk scored the second goal, nailing down the win for the North.

The match came after the closing ceremony of the joint festivities marking the 60th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial occupation.

The grand finale event at Goyang Stadium was attended by some five-hundred civilian delegates from the two Koreas and abroad as well as around 15-thousand spectators.
