China says it is the seventh country in the world to clone a pig.

Chinese news media on Tuesday said China Agricultural University cloned a pig by duplicating the somatic cells of a thoroghbred piglet and transplanting them to a surrogate mother pig.

The university said the cloning will help spur the development of Chinese biotechnology.
