Nat'l Team Headed for Turkey Universiade

South Korean officials and athletes have departed for the 23rd Universiade in Izmir, Turkey.

Led by Chosun University president Kim Joo-hun, Korea's delegation comprises 198 members, including 50 officials and 148 athletes, who will compete in 13 events.

The contingent aims to finish in the medal count's top-five by notching victories in its traditional strengths, including the Korean martial art of Taekwondo, wrestling, and archery.

The games will run through August 21st, with the opening ceremony to commence at the Ataturk Stadium on Friday.
