Women Footballers Notch Historic Win over China

South Korean women’s football team has beaten China for the first time ever.

During the East Asian Football Federation Women’s Cup on Monday, Korean players beat their Chinese counterparts 2-0 at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

Han Jin-sook drew the first goal 42 minutes into the fist half on an assist from forward Jung Jung-suk.

In the second half, Korean striker Park Eun-sun added goal number-two to seal the victory.

The Korean women's team had never won a game against the Chinese since the sides first met in the 1990 Beijing Asian Games.

Meanwhile, North Korea got off to a good start with its 1-0 victory against Japan on the same day.

The team’s 19-year-old midfielder Ri Kum-suk hammered home a goal 38 minutes into the first half.
