A research team has developed a new contrast agent for MRI tests.

The team led by Professor Yoon Kwon-ha at Wonkwang University said Thursday that the contrast agent effectively identified and marked the location of problematic cells in its study.

The contrast agent was created by combining nano-size chemicals commonly used as MRI contrast agents with a certain antibody that traces cancerous and inflammatory cells.

The team expects the contrast agent to contribute to early and accurate diagnosis of cancers and inflammation.
