Hikers Scale World's 9th Tallest Peak

A group of South Korean mountaineers has scaled the world's ninth-highest peak in Pakistan.

A three-man expedition led by Lee Sung-won reached the summit of the 8,125-meter Nanga Parbat Thursday after a 94-day journey, the first conquest since Reinhold Messener did so in 1970.

Nanga Parbat means “naked mountain” but sherpas and locals of the Himalayan region call it the "mountain of the Devil."
