PSV to Give Tryout to Youth Goalie

PSV Eindhoven is eyeing young goalkeeper Cha Ki-seok as its next Korean import.

Starting for the national youth soccer team in last month's world championships, Cha will undergo a tryout with the Dutch league champion Thursday morning.

Cha's agent O&D on Wednesday said a transfer to PSV is highly likely given Hiddink's desire to groom the player as a back-up goalie.

PSV under former South Korea coach Guus Hiddink on Friday will play its first game in the Peace Cup invitational tournament in Seoul.

Cha apparently caught Hiddink's eye during last month's world youth championships in The Netherlands, with the coach asking about the goalie in talks with Korea Football Association officials.

Just 19 and playing for the domestic Chunnam Dragons FC, Cha is 191 centimeters tall and weighs 84 kilograms.
