Choi Hee-seop finished tied for fifth in the annual U.S. All-Star Home Run Derby.

In Detroit Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodger and Andruw Jones of the Atlanta Braves each hit five home runs, but failed to advance to the second round.

Bobby Abreu of the Philadelphia Phillies won the derby with a record 41 homers, easily breaking the previous mark of 27 set by Miguel Tejada last year.

The event was a showcase for the inaugural World Baseball Classic to open next year and invited batters from different countries.
