Striker Ahn to Join France's FC Metz

2002 World Cup hero Ahn Jung-hwan will join French soccer team FC Metz.

Sources on Monday said Ahn secretly flew to Paris with his agent to agree on specific contract terms and conditions.

His agent said he agreed to a one-year deal, adding Ahn will take a medical examination in the morning before signing Monday afternoon.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Ahn's contract with Japanese champion Yokohama F. Marinos expires in July.

Finishing 16th out of 20 teams in the French first league, FC Metz is well known to soccer fans in South Korea through its player exchanges and coaching programs with the Korea Football Association in 2002.
