Slugger Lee Earns All-Star Nod in Japan

Asia's home run king Lee Seung-yeop will play in Japan's All-Star game on July 22 and 23rd.

On its homepage, Nippon Professional Baseball on Friday included Lee on the game's 56-man roster.

The Chiba Lotte Marines slugger received the second-most fan votes in the Pacific League and a manager's recommendation in becoming only the third non-Japanese named to this year's game.

Lee is also the fourth Korean to earn an All-Star berth in Japan, following reliever Sun Dong-yeol and starting pitchers Cho Sung-min and Koo Dae-sung.
