Joint Taekwondo Delegation to Lobby IOC

The Korean Olympic Committee and the World Taekwondo Federation will send a joint lobbying group abroad to ensure taekwondo's retention in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

KOC President Kim Jeong-gil will lead the delegation that leaves for Singapore Saturday to lobby International Olympic Committee members for their support.

The IOC General Assembly on Tuesday will vote whether to keep all 28 official events and add any of five under consideration.

In talks with global sports leaders including IOC President Jacques Rogge, delegates will discuss sports development in South Korea and Seoul's hosting of the 15th Conference of the Association of National Olympic Committees next year.
