The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that the monsoon season would start across the nation on Sunday.

The central region of the country is forecast to have heavy rains from Sunday night through Monday morning.

The KMA said the rainy season this year would begin two or three days later than it did last year.

Some parts of the nation are expected to have more rainy days from late June to early July under the influence of a stronger seasonal rain front and low pressure.

The wet season is forecast to temporarily slow down in mid-July, with the seasonal rain front moving toward the north and south, and end by late July.
