Yang Joon-hyeok has broken the domestic pro record for most career hits.

The Samsung Lions slugger had two hits in a 5-2 loss to the host SK Wyverns to boost his career total to 1,773, breaking the previous mark of 1,771 by the recently retired Jang Jong-hoon.

Making his pro debut in 1993, Yang broke the record in 1,569 games, much faster than the 1,949 Jang needed.

Yang won the league batting title in 1993, 1996, 1998 and 2001. He was also the first player to hit 350 doubles and the second to hit at least ten homers for 13 straight seasons.
