In a 12-4 rout of the visiting Kansas City Royals, the Colorado Rockies pitcher allowed two earned runs over five and two-thirds innings and lowered his earned run average from 6.65 to 6.27.

Now with a 2-6 record, Kim also posted the 500th strikeout of his career in the fifth inning.
