Written: 2005-06-23 17:31:34Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

July will see lower-than-average temperatures, with the central region to see heavy rain from early next month due to a seasonal rain front.

The Korea Meteorological Administration on Thursday said July's average temperature will fall lower than the usual 19 to 26 degrees Celsius, but rainfall will stay close to the average of 154 to 345 millimeters.

The rainy season will begin early next month as the rain front moves up towards the Korean Peninsula. The rain front will temporarily disappear by mid-July and temperatures will remain close to average.

Though the rainy season should cease at July's end, sultry weather will continue with some showers. Rainfall will fall to a sub-average range of 50 to 135 millimeters.
