Gov't to Build 2nd Base in Antarctica

The government will build by 2011 a second research base in Antarctica to study global climate.

The Korea Polar Research Institute under the state-run Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute will build an ice breaker to set sail in 2008.

The country's first base King Sejong, located on King George Island, will conduct research on polar organisms.
