Los Angeles Dodger Choi Hee-seop will compete in the home run derby in the US All-Star Game on July 12th in Detroit's Comerica Park.

Choi's agent Lee Chi-hoon on Wednesday confirmed his client's acceptance of an invitation from the Major League Baseball Players' Union.

The third-year pro will join power hitters Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees and Derek Lee of the Chicago Cubs in the annual event.

Choi ranks 15th in the National League and 26th in the majors in homers with 13.
