Striker Ahn Ready to Leave J-League

2002 World Cup soccer star Ahn Jung-hwan is ready to leave the Japanese pro league.

Sources at his team Yokohama Marinos on Tuesday said the striker did not renew his contract that expires this month, and is looking to move to Europe to fulfill his long-held dream.

Ahn was transferred to Yokohama last year after debuting in Japan with the Shimizu S-Pulse in September 2002.

He scored four goals in nine games this year, and 30 goals in 72 matches in his J-league career.
