Despite being tied for the interleague lead with 12 homers, slugger Lee Seung-yeop of Japan's Lotte Marines has missed out on the Most Valuable Player award.

The Lotte homepage on Monday said its right-handed pitcher Kobayashi Hiroyuki was named interleague MVP.

Lee has a batting average of .308 and 27 runs batted in interleague play.

Lotte won its first interleague title with a 5-1 victory over the Yakult Swallows Friday, with Lee blasting a two-run homer in the eighth inning.
