Cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-seok will fly to Japan on June 23rd to discuss possible joint research of human embryonic stem cells.

The South Korean embassy in Japan on Thursday said Hwang will meet officials from Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to discuss the proposed project, but released no further details.

Hwang will also hold a news conference at the embassy on June 24th and deliver a lecture at an ethnic Korean school in Tokyo before returning home the following day.
