The Korean Broadcasting Commission will promote the excellence of a locally-developed mobile TV service at an international exhibition in Singapore.

The commission said it will give a trial performance of the terrestrial and satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) technology at the Broadcast Asia 2005 showcase.

During the four-day event starting from Tuesday, the commission will demonstrate the state-of-the-art technology by directly transmitting programs of Singapore’s leading broadcaster, Media Corp, to a DMB phone at the exhibition.

The commission is hoping the event will accelerate the advancement of South Korean new media broadcasting technologies into foreign markets and boost the international competitiveness of the nation’s media industry.

Some ten-thousand visitors from 60 countries are expected to attend the exhibition.
