South Korea lost 2-1 to Switzerland in the opening Group F match of the FIFA World Youth Championship on Sunday.

In the match held in the Dutch city of Emmen, South Korea took the lead in the 25th minute after Shin Young-rok capitalized on a dazzling move that momentarily flummoxed the Swiss defense.

But the Swiss came roaring back later in the half with two goals in a five-minute span from Goran Antic and Johan Vonlanthen, putting Switzerland atop the Group F pack following an earlier 0-0 draw between Brazil and Nigeria.

South Korea will now have to beat African champion Nigeria and defending WYC champion Brazil to reach the round of 16.

South Korea will play Nigeria on Thursday.
