The national soccer team is in its sixth straight World Cup after a convincing 4-0 win over Kuwait Wednesday.
In Kuwait City, star youngster Park Ju-young continued his magic for the team, scoring his second goal in as many games and assisting on a third.
He scored the opening goal by volleying in a low cross from Kim Dong-jin in the 19th minute, and then drew a foul after breaking free in the penalty area ten minutes later.
Lee Dong-gook hit the penalty kick to give South Korea a 2-0 lead at halftime. Play was temporarily suspended after Lee's goal as frustrated fans threw debris on the field.
In the second half, substitute Chung Kyung-ho hit a blast from the top of the penalty box in the 54th minute for South Korea's third goal. Seven minutes later, Park Ji-sung scored for his team's final point.
South Korea is the third Asian team to qualify for the World Cup, following Japan and Iran. It is also the first Asian country to qualify for the sixth straight time.
