ManU to Bid Over $7 Mln for Park JS

English Premier juggernaut Manchester United may offer over seven million dollars to lure midfielder Park Ji-sung away from PSV Eindhoven.

The Times of London said United is seen to bid up to four million pounds, and that Park’s agent believes the talented 24-year-old may find the lure of United too difficult to resist.

Confirming he has received an offer, Park said that although he will discuss his plans with PSV coach Guus Hiddink, the decision is ultimately his to make.

Footballasia.com said Park seems certain to move to England, as United CEO David Gill and PSV staff on Thursday will hold talks on his transfer. The Dutch team has its player offered a three-year extension to his current contract.

The Times said United’s interest is spurred by a desire to penetrate the growing East Asia market, and Park would greatly help in that regard given his stellar performances in the 2002 World Cup and this year’s Champions League semifinals.
