“Korean Express” Park Chan-ho has pitched for his100th win in the American majors.
In a June 5th game against the Kansas City Royals in Kauffman Stadium, the Texas Ranger got through five shaky innings, allowing 11 hits and 6 runs before turning the mound over to Ron Mahay in the 6th inning with his team leading 12-6.
Backed by a solid Rangers' offensive performance, Park was eventually credited with the win, becoming the first South Korean pitcher to notch 100 victories in the majors.
Despite two walks, he had five strike-outs, throwing for 70 strikes out of 107 pitches. His season ERA currently stands at 5.04 for this season.
With the victory, Park has become the 542nd pitcher to throw for 100 wins in major league history, and only the 2nd Asian to achieve the feat, following Hideo Nomo.
