Park Ju-young has added another chapter to his hyped young career.

The rookie sensation's goal in the final minute on Friday helped the national soccer team salvage a 1-1 draw with host Uzbekistan in a World Cup qualifier.

Off a pole-deflected shot by substitute Kim Do-heon, Kim Sang-sik volleyed the ball to Park, who shot it into the net.

Maksim Shatskikh's goal in the 63rd minute had given Uzbekistan the lead, and his team seemed on pace to win before South Korea's late offensive flurry resulted in Park's equalizer.

Instead of needing just a tie against Kuwait Thursday, the team now must win to ensure its sixth straight berth in the World Cup.

Despite having most of its Europe-based stars, South Korea struggled in the first half as the Uzbek side did most of the attacking.

Early in the second half, Ahn Jung-hwan had a goal waved off for offside, and the team missed several other chances to score before its last-gasp attack in the final minutes.
