The APEC Ministerial Meeting on Telecommunication and Information Industry on Friday ended in Peru with the adoption of an action plan for information technology development.

In the "Lima Declaration," information technology ministers of 21 member states pledged to expand infrastructure for balanced regional development of the IT sector and boost the digital industry through efficient policy and regulations.

Information and Communication Minister Chin Dae-je briefed on South Korea's successful IT policies and proposed regional cooperation in bridging the digital divide and improving information security.
