ManU to Offer $5.5 Mln for Park JS

Manchester United may offer a transfer fee of 5.5 million dollars to pry Park Ji-sung away from PSV Eindhoven.

British tabloid Daily Mirror on Thursday said Sir Alex Ferguson, the English Premier team's coach, has arranged direct negotiations with the midfielder.

The Mirror said PSV will probably sell Park for as low as 5.5 million dollars as his contract expires in June 2006. He is free to talk to other clubs from next month.

It called Park a workaholic midfielder who would bring a new dimension to United, saying his adaptability and energy would help jumpstart the key position.

Named the top Asian top player in Europe, Park is also expected to help United crack the Far East market.
