Bonghwa in North Gyeongsang Province will build a solar power plant with a three thousand-kilowatt capacity.

The 40 billion won plant will have six hundred five-kilowatt solar cell modules and generate 66 hundred megawatt hours of energy per year.

Construction will begin in January next year and commercial operation will start in 2008.

Bonghwa was selected for having one of the highest sunlight exposures in the country.

Solar power is a next-generation and environment-friendly energy source.
