FIFA to Ban Fans at NK-Japan Match

A World Cup qualifier between North Korea and Japan on June 8th in Pyongyang will likely bar spectators.

Japan's Kyodo News Agency on Tuesday quoted sources as saying another possibility is for the match to be moved to a third country.

A source said that FIFA, soccer's world governing body, is more likely to choose the no-fans option to impose stronger measures for crowd violence.

FIFA's disciplinary committee will decide what punishment to impose on North Korea by the end of next month.

North Korea is facing sanctions over the violent behavior of its fans in a World Cup qualifier with Iran last month.
