Institutes to Jointly Study Fusion

A think tank has agreed with a Japanese counterpart to conduct exchanges of researchers in plasma nuclear fusion and jointly develop related equipment.

The Korea Basic Science Institute and the Atomic Energy Research Institute of Japan have signed an agreement to jointly develop technology for the commercial use of nuclear fusion energy.

The two will also inspect an apparatus to research next-generation superconductivity nuclear fusion that the Korean institute will complete by August 2007.
