Pitcher Kim Traded to Colorado Rockies

The Boston Red Sox have traded relief pitcher Kim Byung-hyun to the Colorado Rockies.

In return, the Rockies sent catcher Charles Johnson and a minor league pitcher.

Kim had signed a two-year, ten million dollar deal with Boston last year, but struggled after being named the starting reliever. He had two wins, one loss, no saves and a six-point-23 earned run average.

The sidearm pitcher had been a major factor in Boston's 2003 playoff run, but spent the latter part of last season in the minors.

ESPN says he has a chance to win the starting relief job in Colorado.
