North Korea lost 2-1 to Bahrain in Pyongyang Friday for its second straight defeat in the last round of the Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers.

Bahrain's Ahmed Husain headed in his country's first goal in the sixth minute, and scored another in the 57th minute.

Park Song-kwan cut the lead to one after heading in a volley in the 62nd minute. But the North couldn't capitalize on a number of scoring chances afterwards.

With the loss, North Korea's chances of making the World Cup are dim at best. It plays Iran at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang Wednesday.
