An event celebrating the 50th annivesary of Albert Einstein's death will also include the disputed Dokdo islets.
The Korea Physics Society, North Gyeongsang Province and the Pohang City Hall will include Dokdo as part of the route of the "light of Einstein." The light will connect cities and places around the world on April 19th.
The United Nations has designated this year as International Year of Physics 2005. The World Festival of Light is one of several events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Einstein's death.
In the event, the light will depart from the United States and will arrive on Dokdo through wireless communications after being converted to electromagnetic waves at Homi Point in Pohang.
Meanwhile, Professor Kim Seung-hwan, festival organizer for South Korea, said he will register Dokdo's coordinates for the global positioning system with the event's international organizers, to formalize the relay of light on the islets.
