According to a report released Wednesday by the world football governing body, South Korea lost its previous 21st ranking to Costa Rica, which jumped six notches from last month.

North Korea came in 91st place, its highest ranking since 1995, thanks to a recent series of remarkable performances.

South Korea and Saudi Arabia, which came in 30th place, are scheduled to compete against each other in the second Asian preliminary for the 2006 German World Cup on Friday.

Brazil topped the rankings list, followed by France and Argentina.
