A U.S. daily has called South Korea the most wired country on the planet with the largest number of broadband Internet and mobile phone users.

The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper said in a Sunday article entitled "The Future is South Korea," that the country has entered an age of wireless broadband networks and digital multimedia broadcasts where people can readily enjoy Internet services in the comfort of their cars.

The paper also said the biggest corporations of America's Silicon Valley, which used to be hailed as the world's high-tech capital, are rushing to South Korea to see if their products pass muster with some of the world's most demanding IT customers.
