South Korean women speed skaters have defeated their Chinese rivals to capture the world short track team championships for the fourth consecutive year.

In the women's finals of the team championships on Sunday, the four-member South Korean team garnered 43 points, beating the Chinese team, which finished with 35 points.

The finals were staged in four events 500 meters, 1,000 meters, 3,000 meters and 3,000 meter relay. The Canadian women's team ranked third overall with 24 points.

In the men's event, however, the Korean speed skaters were defeated by the Canadian team in the finals.

In the men's finals, Canada earned 43 points, followed by South Korea with 36 points and China with 22 points.
