Lee Sanghwa Wins at World Junior Speed Skating Championship

Promising talent of South Korea's female speed skating, Lee Sang-hwa, clinched first place in the first day of the world junior championship underway in Finland.

Lee, a student at Hwikyung Girls' High School, won the 500 meter final event clocking in at 39.93 seconds.

Lee marks the first South Korean female player to win an event at the world junior speed skating competition.

In the men's 500 meter final, Lee Jong-woo from Seoul National University grabbed a bronze finishing the race at 37.90 seconds.
